Jackie Tam, MS, MFT-Associate

I am a Marriage and Family Therapist Intern under the supervision of Susan Schlag, LMFT.  I have years of experience helping people from many different backgrounds grow and heal.  I mainly use a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy approach, along with elements of mindfulness and Solution Focused Therapy, to help clients uncover the answers that lie within them.

I believe it is important to normalize the therapeutic experience as much as possible.  Therapy does not have to be mysterious, magical, or intimidating.  Sometimes old patterns have become unhelpful and need shifting; sometimes old wounds need to be healed.  No matter what the root of the problem, all are part of the human experience, and can be worked through.  By increasing insight and learning some simple tools, clients are able to reinstate themselves as the experts in their own lives.
