Char'lee Stewart, MS, LMFT , PMH-C

Char’lee is a licensed Marriage and Family therapist in California, Oregon, and Washington.  She received her Bachelors of Arts degree in psychology from California State University Los Angeles in 2008 and then received her Master’s of Science degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Loma Linda University in 2010.  She is a member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (CAMFT).

 

Over the past 12-13 years, she has obtained extensive experience working with children, adolescents, couples and families in community mental health, school based, substance use recovery, and private practice settings both in-person and via telehealth.  Char’lee has also worked in horse stables while providing equine assisted psychotherapy to children and families.  She is certified in evidenced based practices such as Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), where trauma is experienced by children 0-5 years of age,  and is also certified in Perinatal Mental Health.  In addition, Char’lee has specialized training in Exposure Response Prevention (ERP).  Char’lee has also worked as a clinical director for Camp Mariposa Los Angeles where children ages 9-12 who are impacted by substance abuse in their families attend a weekend overnight camp 6 times a year.  

 

Char’lee utilizes client centered therapy with a family centered approach.  She utilizes a variety of play therapy and art therapy interventions while working with youth and has provided play therapy trainings for other clinicians in non-profit agencies.  Char’lee believes that every person has the ability to build on life’s obstacles to achieve a better quality of life.
