Jesica Camarena, M.S., AMFT, APCC

​

Jesica is a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapy and Associate Professional Clinical Counselor. She is a Long Beach native who started her journey in Psychology in 2015 at California State University Long Beach. She graduated with her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and she continued her path and passion onto the clinical route of Psychology. Jesica graduated with her Masters of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy and Clinical Counseling in 2021.

 

Jesica grew up with a single parent in a Spanish speaking household. Through this life experience she was able to gain empathy for children, families, women, teenagers, and stigmatized communities. She held various positions working with children and their families. These include working as special education assistance, applied behavioral analyst, parent consultant, and assisting school counselors with children with social emotional trauma. She is passionate about working with children and families who have family members in the Autism spectrum as well as working with adults who are going through struggles in different parts of their life. She follows more of an eclectic approach with emphasis on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Client Centered Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Narrative Therapy and Play Therapy with her clients. Jesica has experience in working with children, teens, young adults, families, individuals in the Autism spectrum and older adults. She holds experience work with clients on: depression, anxiety, trauma, divorce, behavior issues, Domestic Violence, DCFS, disabilities, OCD, divorce, self-harm, and grief. Jesica believes that through therapy anything is possible, one just needs someone to really listen, validate them, and empathize with them. Supervised by Dr. Julie Payne, DMFT,LMFT Lic #49281.
