Jacob Costa, MS, LMFT

Jacob Costa is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist born and raised in San Pedro, California. He began his journey into Psychology in 2012 as an undergraduate at California State University, Dominguez Hills. Graduating in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a minor in Sociology, he continued his path onto the clinical route of Psychology. Graduating with a Master’s of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2020, Jacob holds fresh academic knowledge and clinical experience within Marriage and Family Therapy.

 

Growing up attending private schools, Jacob was able to use this insight and empathy to gain clinical experience within private schools among the South Bay— supporting children, teenagers, parents, and teachers. Jacob holds a strong passion for supporting, children, families, women, the LGBTQ+ community, and giving a voice to marginalized communities. He holds experience of conflict resolution among teens, parent/child relationships; anxiety, depression, behavior plans, divorce, self-harm, and trauma. He comes with a Humanistic approach, utilizing Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Play Therapy, and Postmodern theories. Jacob believes in the full potential of his clients when there is compassionate support, validation, and an open mind and heart within the therapy room.
