Isabel Simon, MA, APCC

Isabel was born and raised in London, England, and has lived in the United States for over a decade, earning her bachelor’s in Art History in Pennsylvania and her master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in New York. After several years working in the art industry in New York City, she decided to follow in the footsteps of the two generations of female mental health counselors before her, pursuing her career as a counselor.

Isabel has been interested in mental health and the complexities of human emotion and relationships throughout her life, and is passionate about the arts and creative expression as a means for healing and growth. She takes a holistic approach to wellness, taking into account the physical, social, mental and emotional wellbeing of an individual.

Isabel believes in the importance of creating a warm and compassionate therapeutic alliance, fostering genuine connections and using humor when appropriate. She uses an integrative approach to create a tailored experience for each client, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Client Centered Therapy, Mindfulness and a strengths based, trauma-informed approach. Her experience includes working with individuals on the Autism spectrum, as well as those dealing with trauma, depression, social anxiety and bullying, disordered eating and grief. (BBS associate registration #15186., Supervised by Susan Schlag, LMFT)
